Regulatory Affairs Specialist supports the oversight of regulatory matters and strategy implementation to ensure the organization complies with applicable regulations. Prepares filings and tracks applications for licensing, certification, and permits and interacts with governmental officials during the regulation and certification process. Being a Regulatory Affairs Specialist monitors compliance with existing regulations and upcoming or changing regulations. Performs impact analysis of regulatory changes and produces status reports. Additionally, Regulatory Affairs Specialist participates in processes to report, investigate, and addresses any issues of non-compliance. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Regulatory Affairs Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.   • Dorsey & Whitney LLP is seeking an associate with at least three years of experience to join our Boise office to work on mining, real estate, and renewable energy mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other project development and transactional matters in our Regulatory Affairs Practice Group. This associate will have the opportunity to work on national and international natural resource, energy and real estate transactions with teams of Dorsey lawyers located across our 21 offices with an emphasis on nationally-based energy companies, unique Canadian/U.S. commerce intersections and Asian-Pacific international markets. The attorneys in the Boise office work regularly on these transactions with attorneys across the firm, and collaborate extensively with the Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Seattle, Anchorage, Denver, Minneapolis, and Washington, D.C offices.

    Qualified candidates will have:
    • A JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school;
    • At least three years of transactional experience, including substantial mergers and acquisitions experience;
    • Experience working in the business, corporate or natural resource groups of a large law firm;
    • Experience with mining, real estate, or energy is a plus;
    • Strong communication and writing skills; and
    • Top academic credentials.
