Regional Medical Director establishes and implements health care policies and standards, evaluates new treatments, and conducts medical research to ensure the quality of the medical care provided to patients for a specified region. Writes research publications to support clinical service offerings. Being a Regional Medical Director is responsible for strategic clinical relationships with physicians in the region. Oversees the development of the clinical content in marketing materials. Additionally, Regional Medical Director ensures all regional clinical programs are in compliance with laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. The Regional Medical Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Director, Medical Staff Services

    Full-time, Exempt position located at Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA

    The tradition of caring that culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical Center® began in 1965, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Since that time the hospital has changed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community. Corona Community Hospital merged with Circle City Medical Center in 1992 and the resulting entity became Corona Regional Medical Center. The merged hospitals are now a 238-bed community hospital network comprised of a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. It is certified by The Joint Commission, employs more than 1,250 trained healthcare workers and has a medical staff of approximately 347 physicians representing more than 40 specialties.

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer this position is responsible for directing and managing internal and external marketing for the hospital, its services and affiliated organizations, consistent with the mission and goals of the hospital. Primary responsibility is to develop and implement hospital marketing plan as part of the strategic business development plan. Supervises marketing, sales and publication relations staff.

    Qualifications

    Director, Medical Staff Position Requirements:

    • Medical Staff Services Acute Care Setting, minimum 5 years’ experience.
    • Experience as a Director of Medical Staff in an Acute Care Setting, minimum of 2 years.
    • California experience preferred.
    • College Degree preferred but not required.
    • Education in Medical Staff Services or equivalent experience.
    • CPMSM (Required) in addition to CPCS (Preferred).
