The WHOP Family of Stations (Lite Rock 98.7 FM, NewsRadio 95.3 FM/1230AM, and 95.3 FM The Farm) in Hopkinsville, Kentucky is accepting applications for a Full-Time Sports Director. The WHOP coverage area includes 7 local high schools, and WHOP provides play-by-play action for 4 of the 7 schools. WHOP offers play-by-play for football, basketball, baseball, and softball. It is preferred the new Sports Director has knowledge of soccer, volleyball, golf, tennis, and track sports. All candidates must have excellent verbal and written skills and must be able to use social media and a WordPress based online content management system. WHOP Radio is a radio and digital company, so the Sports Director must be comfortable using digital media to report on and produce sports coverage.
A two-year experience minimum in covering and following local sports is preferred. Audio of an on-air air check will be required with a resume and list of references.
