The Quality Management Director - Healthcare manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Job Summary: The Director of Case Management is responsible for the oversight and implementation of the Case Management, Resource Management and Discharge Planning Program. These duties include but not limited to daily review of medical records to determine appropriateness and medical necessity of admission, continued hospital stay, use of ancillary services and discharge planning. Great communication, management and supervisory skills are inherent in the position. The position has direct responsibility for the Case Management Department and will report to the Chief Financial Officer.
Qualifications:
Education: Must have the required education needed to be a Registered Nurse, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three years experience as a Case Management Supervisor or Assistant Director. Minimum of three years utilization review experience. Minimum of three years medical/surgical/acute nursing care experience.
License / Certifications: Must maintain a current Registered Nurse license with the Alabama Board of Nursing. Must maintain current BLS certification.
