    Duties

    • You will monitor contractor compliance to the Navy and commercial allied processes specifications and standards in both new construction and post-delivery/repair availabilities.
    • You will perform procedure reviews, conducts independent surveys and focused audits, provides in-process inspections and evaluations, and performs other duties as directed in both new construction and post-delivery/repair availabilities.
    • You will review and monitor contractors systems for certification requirements, in process installations procedures, and engineering intervention of subject related process issues.
    • You will review contractors' process installations procedures, measures and evaluates a variety of acceptance standards to contract requirements.
    • You will provide on-site coordination assistance to SUPSHIPGC Post Delivery Repair project offices, various NA VSEA departments, and product assurance divisions as directed.
    • You will function as Quality Assurance Representative for new construction, restricted availabilities, repair or regular overhaul of ships by local contractors and as SUPSHIP representative at remote Contractor's facilities.
    • You will liaison with Deputy Program manager for PSA, ship's crew and contractor in administering the contract requirements, monitors the quality, inspects, participates in trials and initiates the completion reports.
    • You will be required to plan, organize, and conduct quality assurance actions based on requirements for complex shipbuilding and repair availabilities.

    • This is a bargaining unit position.
    • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
    • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
    • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
    • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

    Qualifications

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting quality assurance (QA) audits or surveys of contractor performance to ensure compliance with established QA requirements and standards in support of shipbuilding operations.
