Purchasing Supervisor supervises daily procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates pricing, monitors performance, and expedites to respond to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Supervisor collaborates with other functions to meet current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Supervisor performs auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Purchasing Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Purchasing Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • Creative Business Innovations is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Supervisor for our Client in East Liberty, OH.

    This position is a direct hire position!

    Scope and Purose of Position:

    Responsible for the purchasing, planning, and logistics of MRP components in professional manner. Supervising, developing, and coaching a strong team and for providing required training to subordidnates. Responsible for managing trailer logistics in the yard and for submitting monthly compensation requests on expendable packagign used. Liaison with Honda teams and was responsible for timely and accurate inventory transactions among other responsiblities assigned by the department manager.

    Tasks of the Position:

    • Responsible for days on hand and Supplier's performance indicators.
    • Develop and review MP&L Process maps, SOPs. and SWDs on an ongoing basis, providing required training.
    • Review and update necessary SOPs to ISO and company guidelines.
    • Work with other MAI companies to set up, improve, and standardize documented business processes.
    • Inform purchasing and internal or external customers of material flow issues where applicable.
    • Escalate critical situations where necessary to improve customer satisfaction.
    • Corrdinate daily updates to internal production schedule (receive, audit, and update).
    • Porvide logistics support as needed.
    • Mentoring and coaching subordinates
    • Providing required training.
    • Supervise subordinates' safety, productivity, and quality of work.
    • Develop subordinates.
    • Responsible for purchasing team actions towards required days on hand and reducing downtime.
    • Identify Supplier performance improvement opportunities to achieve Supplier performance goal.
    • Responsible for managing the cycle count program to sustain required Absolute Inventory accuracy.
    • Support internal and external audits for process validation.
    • Develop and monitor transaction for improved processing time and accuracy.
    • Responsible for accuracy in system transactions.
    • Report/verify internal and external logistics issues.
    • Manage and expedite disposition of logistic incidents.
    • Working with operations for a monthly consolidation of expendable packaging used.
    • Submit monthly expendable packaging compensation requests when applicable.
    • Investigate complaints and collaborate with the areas responsible to divise and then take corrective actions.
    • Lead, participate, and support continuous improvement activities to include 5S, Kaizen, Quick Hits, Six Sigma and other related continuous improvement events.
    • Other assignments are authorized by department manager.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Manages several tasks and projects at any given time.
    • Possesses strong organizational, priority/time management, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Speaks effectively before groups of customers or associates of Client.
    • Communicates complex and confidential situations to plant Human Resources and always seeks guidance and direction.
    • Written communication skills to compse and/or edit written materials, reports, and correspondence.
    • Ability to interpret safety rules, customer schedules, operations standards, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to use data to drive decision-making.
    • Knowledge of computer systems; familiar with Microsoft Office products.
    • Must build and sustain positive communication with customers, suppliers, company peers, and associates.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Hands-on and working knowledge required of each station/area on assigned shift.

    Supervisory Resonsibility:

    Supervise Purchasing Specialist, Materials Analysts, and Shipping and Receiving Associates for assigned location. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these associates in accordance wiht the Client policies and procedures.

    Education/Training:

    • Bachelor's degree (Bachelor's degree in supply chain or business administration preferred)
    • Minimum of 4 years of Supply Chain experience (Purchasing/MRP experience, preferred).
    • Advanced excel and PowerPoint experience.
    • 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
