Purchasing Manager manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Manager collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Manager oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Purchasing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Duties

    • Act as Alliant’s clinical and physician preference item subject matter expert
    • Identify opportunities for product conversion, standardization and cost reduction
    • Provide actionable insights and ad hoc reports to the Alliant team and its members
    • Determine portfolio competitiveness, areas for optimization, and trends
    • Measure, benchmark, verify, and validate member volume, market share, and savings
    • Create and maintain product cross-reference data

    Qualification Requirements

    • Three years of experience specializing in clinical and physician preference items (PPI), specifically those utilized in cardiovascular, orthopedic, spine, neuroscience, gastrologic, urologic, and gynecological procedures required
      • Proficiency in product and medical device categories like electrophysiology, revascularization, cardiology and other guidewires, catheters, balloons, introducers, sheaths, stents, grafts, mesh, vascular closure, heart valves, thrombectomy, electrophysiology, arthrectomy, biologics/biological mesh/bone/bone substitute, cement, and harvesters, arthroscopy, spinal implants and decompression, endoscopy, neuromodulation, perfusion, orthopedic trauma and total and partial joints, specialty urological, surgical incontinence, and gynecological ablation
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel

    Compensation

    $55,000-65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
