Job Responsibilities
Develops and serves as the manager of the Agency’s Speakers’ Bureau. Creates and delivers informational presentations based on the mission and strategic goals of the Agency. Serves as primary spokesman for the Agency to community members and public interest groups across the state. Coordinates speaking engagements as requested for senior members of the leadership team. Leads the Public Engagement advance team for leadership speaking engagements to ensure logistical needs are met.
Establishes and maintains relationships with a diverse group of constituents including community members, employees, and public interest groups. Maintains contact lists for stakeholder groups and build relationships with organizations around the state including local chambers of commerce, civic organizations, economic development agencies, faith-based organizations, and other groups, ensuring that the Agency is reaching a diverse constituency; and providing up to date information about Agency initiatives on a regular basis. Develops ideas on engaging with the local community, working closely with community, and agency partners.
Acts as a brand ambassador, ensuring that public meetings and other engagements hosted by the agency meet a consistent standard. Develops and provides a toolkit for hosting public engagement events and serves as an advisor for agency personnel on outreach strategies. Develops and maintains a tracking system that includes, but is not limited to, leadership biographies, agency-approved power point presentations, and handouts. Maintains calendar of all agency speaking engagements.
Proactively provides information about upcoming outreach events, initiatives, and programs to Public Engagement leadership and other agency staff as needed. In collaboration with the graphic design team, develops print and presentation materials that help convey the Agency’s message and provides critical information. Orders and maintains an inventory of promotional items and publications to support agency-wide outreach efforts. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree and three (3) years of relevant experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
The physical demands for the essential functions includes sitting or standing at a desk for an extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside normal business hours.
