Project Manager - Construction directs day-to-day construction project management planning and execution processes to meet project design requirements, schedules, and organizational financial objectives. Manages governance of projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools for effective project management throughout the project lifecycle. Being a Project Manager - Construction uses comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and operations to set project productivity and quality targets. Monitors all project milestones, changes, and technical status reports. Additionally, Project Manager - Construction manages strategic client and contractor relationships and establishes clear lines of communication. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Project Manager - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Project Manager - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Responsibilities:
· Manages all projects assigned by the Employer in a timely, professional manner.
· Reads and understands plans, reviews submittals, generates subcontracts and purchase orders, oversees quality control and warranty items.
· Enables timely project completion through scheduling, delivery expedition and document management.
· Proactively manages project budget / costs.
· Holds regularly scheduled project meetings and prepares and distributes meeting minutes (Owner / Architect / Contractor meetings, Sub Scheduling meetings, Sub Preinstallation meetings, etc.)
· Obtains all necessary permits and meets regulatory requirements.
· Maintains safe worksite by compliance with OSHA standards and site inspections.
· Maintains consistent and professional correspondence with all client representatives, architects, subcontractors, vendors, co-workers, etc.
· Solicits and negotiates prices from subcontractors and vendors as needed.
· Assists with creation, verifying and maintaining punch list.
· Supervises people and resolves conflicts while keeping the project on schedule.
· Works with the project team, Owner’s representatives and all necessary parties (i.e. subcontractors, vendors, architect, engineers, building officials) to manage changes in scope, project reviews and progress.
· Attends industry events and represents Sheridan Construction in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
· Three to five years commercial construction project management or assistant project management experience.
· Computer skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word).
· Knowledge / Willingness to learn Procore and HH2.
· Solid interpersonal and communications skills.
· Strong work ethic.
