Project Management Director develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to top management. The Project Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.     POSITION REPORTS TO: Executive Director

    EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT EMPLOYEE STATUS: Exempt (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week)

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Communications and Project Manager is responsible for the general management of SRI communications, marketing, and membership activities related to the mission and strategic plan, as well as daily administrative duties. This position works closely with the Executive Director in managing client projects and programs, and implementing activities that further SRI’s objectives. Liaises with various committees as assigned to provide assistance and support. Works closely with other staff in all areas of client activities, and implements specific projects as determined.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week):

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Manages all aspects of membership including processing membership application, annual dues, recruitment, maintaining membership database changes and management, report creation, website updates, etc.;
    • Utilize and keep updated current marketing communications strategy that supports the mission and strategic objectives of SRI across all functions of the Society;
    • Manages social media and create and implement various social media campaigns throughout the year;
    • Maintain editorial, graphic and branding standards for all SRI communications;
    • Create and manage email campaigns for all activities including for the SRI Foundation, President's Letters to the membership, monthly newsletter, and additional communications, with oversight of the Executive Director;
    • Direct day-to-day content and visual elements of www.sri-online.org and compile the analytics for all sites;
    • Stay updated on new marketing and communications technologies, best practices, and industry trends to identify innovative strategies and solutions that will drive growth in quality lead generation (i.e., new members, meeting attendees, and/or virtual community users);
    • Serve as staff liaison to SRI communications committees collaborating with committee chair on website updates, arranging webinars, arranging committee meetings, taking minutes, and providing regular updates to committee chair;
    • Manage the SRI Mentorship Program, including the networking event during the Annual Meeting, disseminating surveys, as well as organizing and staffing any virtual events;
    • In conjunction with the Executive Director, prepare communications-related project proposals and budgets, assist in their approval process, and retain budgetary responsibility for their implementation and completion;
    • Serve as co-staff liaison to SRI Membership and Nominations Committee managing conference calls and providing regular updates to Membership and Nominations Committee Chair;
    • Serve as staff liaison to the Grants Committee;
    • Serve as staff liaison to Early Career and In Training Committees, arranging committee meetings, implementing Visiting Lecturer Program, taking minutes, providing regular updates to committee chair, and organize and execute in-person and virtual networking events;
    • Manage onsite registration desk during Annual Meeting;
    • Process donations and send thank you letters;
    • Assist with preparation of onsite annual meeting materials including printing badges and stuffing registration packets and assisting with ship-out;
    • Maintain a current project list and timeline using the SRI project management system;
    • Answer information calls regarding SRI related programs and activities; monitoring the info@sri-online.org account and checking the night voicemail box;
    • Providing financial administrative assistance, such as deposits/cash sheets, check requests, drafting and distributing staff memos, coding and submitting invoices to be paid, receipts, refunds, reimbursements, posting batches, etc.;
    • Other duties as assigned.


    AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED: Approximately 2-3 weeks per year, including occasional international. Some weekend and evening work may be required.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree preferred; excellent organizational and communication skills; team player; ability to prioritize varied assignments and handle multiple projects; proficiency in Word, PowerPoint; knowledge of Excel, iMIS and Outlook. Experience in email marketing automation encouraged.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (lifting, packaging, etc.) Minimal lifting required – usually at meetings or while exhibiting. Ability to move quickly within meeting facilities.

    • This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.
