Project Management Director develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. Provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. Being a Project Management Director establishes methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Project Management Director monitors and analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to top management. The Project Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Project Management Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. As a Director, Customer Project Management, you'll be the BU focal point for project management both at an individual project level and the whole facility. The position is responsible for owning the customer experience as well as coordinating with operations, engineering, ODA and QA to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
What You'll Do- Customer experience and Customer Project Management Standard Operating Procedure adherence
- Customer communication and interaction management.
- Project coordination management to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
- Work package definition and assembly with the ability to create a plan deviation documentation.
- Quote review process management, billing, invoice review, and corrections.
- Work scope management to include interaction and development with sales.
- Cost Deviation documentation and tracking.
- Project status updates and reporting system management.
- Post Delivery project review.
- Contract Change Order creation, quoting and scheduling management.
- Contract Management training.
- Engineering Certification Plan schedule management.
- CPM Professional Development and Performance Management.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent education/experience.
- Strong financial acumen; prior experience with budgets & financial statements.
- Possess strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills while demonstrating situational awareness.
- Team leadership skills and ability to lead teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.
- Experience in building strong working relations with customers.
- Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others (direct reports, peers and others not in the direct chain of command).
- Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment including Microsoft Office and a very strong knowledge of MS Project.
- Ability to travel to customer locations to establish and/or maintain a good working relationship.
- 7-10 years of management experience in an aviation environment.
- Management experience in Business Aviation/MRO.
- MBA preferred.
