Project Engineering Manager plans and directs all design engineers, drafters, and technical engineers working on specific projects. Manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs. Being a Project Engineering Manager oversees product construction and testing in order to ensure completion of projects as efficiently and effectively as possible. Evaluates and approves changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project. Additionally, Project Engineering Manager monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Project Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Responsibilities:
- Oversee all activities throughout the initiation, planning, execution, testing, installation, and customer acceptance phases of the project
- Successfully plan, control, and manage project deliverables to ensure customer needs are met and corporate targets are achieved
- Manage, maintain, and communicate regular project status reports/metrics on the health and project progress to management and the customer
- Facilitate customer meetings and project team meetings to ensure project success
- Project kick-off: Lead Project Planning Meeting (PPM) to launch project
- Coordinate project design, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing & service
- Risk identification and mitigation
- Review scope changes and change orders for processing
- Maintain project schedule and budget
- Monitor project costs and margin through Project Cost Summary spreadsheets
- Manage all project billings and payments through Smartsheet
- Facilitate and track all project issues to resolution
- Maintain all project documentation/files
- Track project from initial Sales acceptance through the customer warranty period
Key Qualifications:
-Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Project Management, Sub-Contracting, and Lean Manufacturing.
-Yellow Belt Lean Manufacturing certification is highly preferred.
-PMP Certificate is an asset and would be preferred.
-Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience required.
-Strong ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
Salary: $100-115k (negotiable, based on experience) plus bonus
