Program Manager, Master of Social Work

  • Primary Function: The Program Manager for the upcoming Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree program will continue the work that has been started to draft the program curriculum, collaborate with the ALO on documents required by HLC, and write the initial CSWE candidacy application and Benchmark 1 documents.

     

    Essential Functions/Academic Responsibilities: 

    • Serve as a subject matter expert in social work and ensure compliance with accreditation standards set by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) as the program is built and launched.
    • Hold the primary responsibility for preparing the documentation required for HLC and CSWE accreditation. 
    • Design and develop the MSW curriculum. 
    • While this position is responsible for mapping the courses and concentrations to be developed, this person is not responsible for developing the content of all courses offered in the MSW program.
    • The MSW will be an online-only program built to the established curriculum and instruction design guidelines of the Bruin Experience.
    • Ensure alignment with accreditation standards and industry best practices.
    • Establish and maintain a detailed timeline for program launch activities.
    • Monitor and evaluate the program's progress, identifying key milestones for the transition of the program launch work.
    • Work closely with relevant departments across campus as the program is built and launched.

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
    • Demonstrated expertise in social work practice and education.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Experience overseeing MSW accreditation or reaccreditation process.
    • Experience in teaching in an MSW program and familiarity with MSW curriculum.
    • Experience with online and hybrid teaching.
    • Commitment to and/or experience in promoting and fostering a learning environment supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    • Employment of curriculum designs that promote positive student engagement with the subject matter studied.
    • Adherence to established university policies and procedures.
    • Completion of all required training and development activities relevant to regulations and University practices.
    • Demonstration of effective judgment and professional integrity under higher education standards.
