Position Summary:
Social Services is responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing of the Social Services Department in accordance with current existing federal, state, and local standards, as well as established facility policies and procedures, to ensure that the medically related emotional and social needs of the patient/resident are met/maintained on an individual basis.
Day in The Life / Expectations:
· Participates in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing of the social service programs of the facility.
· Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent patient/resident care information to ensure patient/resident rights are protected.
· Reviews complaints and grievances and makes necessary oral/written reports to the department manager.
Qualifications:
Must possess, as a minimum, an associate degree in a human services field, or related social services experience. Willing to obtain social service designee. (Bachelor’s degree Preferred)
Experience: Must have a minimum one-year experience in a human services field in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility.
