A Social Services Director is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operations of the Social Services department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, and as may be directed by the Executive Director to ensure the highest degree of quality resident social services is maintained. The Social Services Director is committed to the values and ethics of the social work profession with emphasis on resident empowerment and self-determination. Advances the value that the resident comes first. The Director values the Community as the residents' home and works to create attributes of home and models person centered care.
As a Social Services Director, you will take part in implementing policies and procedures to ensure that the department is meeting the day-to-day needs of residents and the Community. This process begins with the pre-admission evaluation and continues on through the resident's plan of care in partnership with residents, resident families and the team. The Social Services Director also participates in resident discharge planning and assisting residents and their families by providing referrals to appropriate agencies for necessary services. The Director identifies and obtains resources from community social, health and welfare agencies designed to meet the needs of our residents.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE And/or TRAINING- LBSW degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Social Worker in the State is required.
- Experience working with older adults.
- Three years of social service work experience preferred.
