Professor - Philosophy teaches courses in the discipline area of philosophy. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Philosophy provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Philosophy typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     ABOUT THIS POSITION

    Summary: Colorado Mesa University is seeking applications for an Adjunct Professor of Philosophy. The ideal candidate would have experience teaching introductory and upper division Philosophy courses. This position would include teaching two, 3-credit hour courses per academic term, starting in Spring 2023.  Classes taught would include, Introduction to Philosophy and Special Topics in Philosophy. Both of these courses will be instructed in-person. 

    Minimum Qualifications Required: 
    MA in Philosophy 

    Salary: $600-$850 per credit hour. Commensurate with education and experience.
