Professor - Drama teaches courses in the discipline area of drama and theater arts. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Drama provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Drama typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Assistant/Associate Professor of Education

  • The University of Sioux Falls invites applications for a full-time position in Education to begin in the Fall of 2024. Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience. 
     
    QUALIFICATIONS        
     Candidates must possess an earned Masters degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or closely related field at the time of appointment. PK-12 teaching experience is required. An earned or in progress Doctorate in Education is preferred but not required.

     

    The successful candidate will have a minimum five years of demonstrated excellence in teaching and leadership in an education environment, will be knowledgeable in online education, program development, instructional design, and student support; and will possess the ability to work collaboratively with PK-12 school personnel. Teaching experience at the university level and experience with university supervision of online students are preferred, but not required. Experience with program state approval and national accreditation requirements is preferred but not required. Personal commitment to the Christian faith and the integration of faith and learning as well as a commitment to the mission of the University of Sioux Falls as a Christian liberal arts university is required.

      
    RESPONSIBILITIES
    This is a full-time position within the Fredrikson School of Education. Responsibilities may include teaching undergraduate assessment courses on ground or online, teaching graduate courses on ground or online, working as point person to either the online elementary and elementary/sped program or serve as the education specialist coordinator, recruiting and advising students. Faculty members are also expected to develop partnerships with local school districts and community agencies, serve on faculty committees, participate in accreditation and assessment activities, stay active in professional organizations, participate in the life of the university and community, and collaborate with existing faculty and staff members.
