Production Scheduler Supervisor supervises the development, preparation, and maintenance of production schedules to guide the production activities and resources that achieve maximum efficiency and meet output and timeline objectives. Coordinates with internal teams to assess and incorporate materials, inventories, resource availability, and delivery commitments into schedules. Being a Production Scheduler Supervisor monitors daily production results and develops revised scheduling responsive to changes in the flow of materials, designs, equipment, or other resources. Utilizes ERP systems, planning and scheduling software, or other database tools to develop and maintain master schedules and generate reporting. Additionally, Production Scheduler Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Production Scheduler Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Scheduler Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     JOB SUMMARY

     

    This position has responsibility for planning/scheduling all day-to-day manufacturing operations. Plans and establishes production schedules. Monitors materials inventories, tracks progress of production, and reviews factors which affect schedules. The position contributes to achieving the plant's sales objectives through coordination of workflow and product quality.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

    • Strong planning and scheduling production mix: Labor needs/cost, machine capabilities, material availability to meet customer requirements and satisfy the current planned level of sales or forecasts
    • Coordinating production workflow for multiple products over multiple lines of production
    • Decisive making skills around recommendations that have a substantial daily impact on operations and performance
    • Excellent follow-up ability in assuring maximum schedule performance
    • Assist with monitoring of materials inventory to effectively determine production schedules
    • Maintain a master production schedule, and material resource planning systems
    • Highly skilled at making last minute changes and motivated to keep all production departments/employees and customers looped in
    • Continuous improvement background for production scheduling processes and information flow

    • Physical Requirements
      • Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
      • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
      • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    Education, Skills and Experience

    • High school education, GED equivalent required, Bachelors degree in related course of study preferred
    • At least 2 years of experience in the corrugated industry
    • Knowledge of KIWI Software preferred
    • Experience working on the production floor with a cross-functional team
    • 2 years of planning/scheduling/supply chain and distribution management experience preferably with MPS and MRP systems
    • Supervisory experience managing a team of planners/schedulers a plus
    • Strong forecasting/labor overtime requirements
    • Team oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills. Able to develop and give presentations to direct reports, peers, etc., on operational topics
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
    • Exceptional oral and writing communication skills
