Production Painter operates a spray painter or other equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metals or products. Mixes paints and other solutions and monitors drying to ensure desired results. Being a Production Painter completes finishing with baking, polishing or other materials. Follows all required safety procedures. Additionally, Production Painter may paint items by hand as needed. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervisor/manager. May require an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. The Production Painter possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Growing company in Sarasota has an open position for a Painter’s Apprentice. DAY SHIFT. Hours are 7:00-3:30pm Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include prepping the products for painting, priming and sanding them, caulking them in all of the joints. We spray only water based latex enamel (house paint). We use a top coat of Sherwin Williams Kem Aqua as well. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, very organized, detail oriented – (attention to detail is an absolute must), meticulous and efficient, self-motivating, team player who works well with others to accomplish what is needed. While we do stress attention to detail, we also have to keep on schedule and ensure that everything goes out by its due date. We’re looking for a person who takes pride in knowing that his work is demonstrated on every product that is painted. This is production painting, so you must be able to work quickly and efficiently, figuring out the best way to make use of your time. We use latex paints using air assisted HVLP spray guns in our own cross-draft spray booth. If you have ever used HVLP (High-Volume, Low Pressure) equipment, that is a definite plus, but not necessary. You’ll get to work with great co-workers in a nice, clean air-conditioned shop.
