Production Control Clerk performs clerical tasks that support production control and ensure the efficient flow of materials required by production schedules. Monitors the inventory of parts, components, and raw materials and coordinates ordering, invoicing, and scheduling with vendors. Being a Production Control Clerk tracks status of customer orders and production schedules to identify issues or delays and coordinates with stakeholders to expedite orders and resolve problems. Inputs and maintains production data in ERP, MRP, or other databases. Additionally, Production Control Clerk requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Production Control Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The Planning Administrator will play a crucial role in our production process by creating and managing production jobs, ensuring accurate allocation of labor and material costs, closing jobs, reviewing variances, and tracking and updating labor standards. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. In this role, you will need excellent attention to detail to support data entry processes for production scheduling and planning.

What You Will Do:- Generate and manage production jobs in the ERP system.
- Ensure all necessary information and resources are included in the job creation process.
- Ensure all labor and material costs are accurately allocated to production jobs.
- Monitor and verify cost entries to maintain accuracy and integrity.
- Complete the job closing process in the ERP system.
- Ensure all job-related data is accurate and complete before closing.
- Analyze and review any variances between estimated and actual costs.
- Investigate and report on the reasons for variances, providing recommendations for improvements.
- Monitor and track labor standards to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Update labor standards periodically based on actual performance and changes in production processes.
- Utilize ERP systems effectively to manage production jobs and related data.
- Use advanced Excel functions for data analysis, reporting, and cost tracking.
- Two-year degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor).
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Primarily sedentary work in an office environment within a manufacturing facility.
- Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
- Occasional lifting of office supplies and materials up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Walking and standing may be required when visiting production areas.
- Ability to occasionally navigate a manufacturing floor, which may include exposure to loud noises, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures.
