Sojo Industries ("Sojo") is a fast-growing industrial automation company that utilizes robotics, mobility, and modularity to deliver efficient packaging and assembly solutions to the food and beverage industry. Sojo has designed and built a sophisticated SQF-compliant facility in Pennsylvania ("Sojo Sprint") to support a variety of packaging materials and capabilities. Sojo has scaled its manufacturing operations, building out additional facilities in Redlands, CA, Indianapolis, IN, and Temple, TX to support its growing business with Fortune 500 customers and leading beverage brands. In addition, Sojo utilizes its
proprietary mobile manufacturing offering, Sojo Flight, to eliminate freight costs, labor costs, packaging costs and harmful emissions while delivering on-site packaging services.

In March 2024, Sojo released Version 1.0 of its custom, Dock-to-Dock, Blockchain-enabled track and trace platform Sojo Shield, currently in use by several key customers. The continued buildout and expansion of this software offering is Sojo’s next frontier. As a manufacturer and partner in the complex and ever-changing consumer packaged goods supply chain, Sojo is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the physical data that manifests and transacts throughout its production facilities and warehouses. This software platform lives at the intersection of the physical and virtual worlds, providing real-time traceability and FDA Compliant reporting for complex tracing applications. Version 2.0 is in development, which will include the buildout of a mobile application and further enhanced features. In Version 3.0, Sojo aims to build a supply chain optimization platform unique from all other current offerings.

Sojo has extremely aggressive growth plans in 2024 and beyond, and is looking for hard-working, curious, and most importantly dedicated individuals to join its team. This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity and a chance to work on a proven use case for a quickly scaling yet established company. The Sojo team is comprised of seasoned executives and operators from the food and beverage industry and customers include Fortune 500 brands, distributors, and manufacturers.The Director of Product Development will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer. They will oversee and manage the development of Sojo Shield. They will be responsible for developing and building out Sojo’s software department and functions. They will research, recommend, and implement
innovative technology use cases within Sojo and Sojo Shield, including the utilization of best-in-class AI tools and services. They will manage external resources and development teams as well as internal software resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of Sojo Shield
• Manage and work with external development resources and teams
• Build out Sojo’s internal development functions
• Ensure maintenance of proper documentation and code backup for all Sojo software products
• Oversee software and firmware development related to Sojo Seal, an IoT product under the Sojo
• Shield umbrella
• Lead the buildout and productization of the Sojo Shield middleware layer
• Implement best in class Artificial Intelligence tools for use in the business
• Travel required- Visit the USA (Bristol, Pennsylvania) at minimum every 1-2 months for meetings and integration with the broader team. Additional travel may be required.
• Participate as an active member of the Sojo leadership team
• All other tasks and initiatives as assigned by the CTO

Basic Qualifications

• Past experience managing software resources and building software products
• Knowledge of best practices for software development and release
• Ability to write and evaluate code
• Prior programming is a plus- C /C#/Python/Javascript/SQL etc.
• Experience writing technical documentation
• Knowledge of Blockchain use cases and development
• Experience implementing AI-based tools

Bonus Qualifications

• Supply chain experience- ERP, Rest API, Warehouse Management System

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
