Product Design Director manages and coordinates design, development, and enhancement of new and existing products/product lines. Evaluates and ensures design feasibility and design optimization. Being a Product Design Director assists in the determination of project milestones and timelines. Ensures team meets project milestones and completes projects within the established timeline. Additionally, Product Design Director evaluates issues, provides resolution, and communicates to management. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Product Design Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.
