Process Engineering Technician provides technical support to engineers to ensure production goals of the organization are met. Provides assistance related to the review of existing and design of new manufacturing equipment, processes, and plants. Being a Process Engineering Technician may suggest or implement equipment purchases, modifications or calibration changes that could result in improved productivity or reduced costs related to production. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Process Engineering Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Process Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Under supervision of a professional engineer, the purpose of this position is to perform a variety of technical engineering tasks including design, drafting, surveying and inspection work for capital improvement projects; to assist in preparing complex engineering designs, plans, specifications, cost estimates, budgets and reports; to manage assigned construction projects; and to update and generate GIS maps for the public, contractors and city staff. This position provides highly responsive service to the Transportation Systems Department and other City divisions.
