Private Banking Director oversees all aspects of private banking activities that service the needs of high net-worth clients. Ensures that client relationships are developed and expanded and that the resources of the entire organization are properly leveraged to provide efficient and personalized service delivery. Being a Private Banking Director develops strategies and objectives that include deposit and loan volume goals and effective marketing plans. Implements operations, processes, and team development programs that enhance the achievement of private banking objectives. Additionally, Private Banking Director may act as a consultant for high-value or complex credit decisions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Private Banking Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Private Banking Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Pointe is looking for a Director to support our Private Equity (PE) practice and the firm’s rapid growth. At Pointe, expectations for our Directors are high but empowering.     Pointe currently operates in a highly flexible hybrid office model. This is a full-time salaried position that located in Arlington, Virginia. Pointe offers industry leading compensation, robust benefits, and schedule flexibility.

     

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

     

    As Director, you will lead teams driving high client value and be integral to Pointe’s success as a firm. You will sit at the fulcrum of our Great People, Great Clients, and Great Work Mantra! You will be responsible for developing our more junior Great People on projects and empowering the leadership team's account strategies. You will also be key in structuring and delivering Great Work to our exclusive list of Great Clients. And last (but not least), you will be looked to as a thought partner to develop the strategies that empower our Great Clients’ vision.

     

    Your primary externally facing responsibilities will be to:

    • Lead PE and/or M&A-related project processes from start-to-finish, owning the client delivery, and ensuring output meets Pointe’s standards for quality of insight and client impact
    • Drive the analysis of marketplace trends to identify opportunities and develop key hypotheses / critical questions / investment theses to inform decision-making for Pointe’s clients
    • Determine thoughtful approaches, work plans, and frameworks to guide organizations with inorganic strategies (including buy-side and sell-side diligences)
    • Lead the development of and/or validation of financial, commercial, and strategic assumptions for both corporate and financial buyers
    • Oversee original research, contact development, primary intelligence, and executive-level interviewing to develop unique insight regarding market dynamics and strategic decisions
    • Oversee the development of best-in-class materials that exceed client expectations (in terms of research depth, analytical rigor, and visualization)
    • Act as the “gatekeeper” for the team’s research, analysis, models, etc., ensuring accuracy and clear linkage to critical questions/hypotheses
    • Provide thoughtful, structured approaches to deck development and slide design
    • Partner with clients on engagements by cultivating a collaborative environment and providing high-touch service
    • Develop mastery of Pointe’s research, analytical approaches, and Private Equity expertise in key client industries

     

    Your primary internally facing responsibilities will be to:

    • Work closely with Pointe’s Private Equity leadership to develop practice and account plans, including input into capabilities, staffing, hiring, and top- and bottom-line performance goals and expectations
    • Coach and nurture junior staff and provide team members with developmental and fulfilling opportunities on projects
    • Execute on personal key performance metrics related account and project management targets, produced revenue goals, and coaching and team development
    • Act as a role model for junior staff by embodying Pointe’s values

    • BA or BS required with a clear track record of academic excellence in fields such as Economics, Business, Finance, or Data Science
    • Master's degree in business, management, or other relevant degree preferred
    • Six to ten years of consulting and/or industry experience, including experience in providing financial due diligence and other transaction-related services to private equity fund clients
    • An aptitude for networking and executive-level interviewing,  plus knowledge assessing a target company’s quality of earnings and cash flows
    • Well-honed business acumen and analytical skills
    • A desire to learn and demonstrated ability to master new subject areas quickly
    • Strong communication, writing, and critical-thinking skills
    • Work ethic, dedicated, organized, detail-oriented, and accountable
    • Time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
    • Advanced skill set in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
    • Experience with other analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, R, Python), including modeling and statistical data analysis
    • Aptitude and/or experience in financial modeling and statistical data analysis
    • Foreign language capabilities are a plus
