Print Production Manager oversees the competitive bid and negotiation process with vendors and suppliers that perform print jobs for direct mail, seasonal promotions, sales collateral, and other printed media. Approves print production priorities and schedules, print specifications, and budgets. Being a Print Production Manager advises internal clients on printing projects and recommends cost effective options. Grants final approval on all artwork, copy, formats, mock-ups, and proofs. Additionally, Print Production Manager manages relations with vendors and internal clients. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Print Production Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Essential Job Functions:
Oversee all aspects of Flexo, screen printing operations, RFID; variable data operations, including but not limited to, training, supervision, maintenance, production, scheduling, quality, process improvement, die and roller management, platemaking, screen processing, ink and material management.
Develop expertise in operation of all flexographic presses and working knowledge of screen-printing equipment and processes.
Achievement of quality and productivity targets established by supervisor.
Cooperation with all team members in the efficient execution of company processes
Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with 5S principles.
Maintain a safe and injury free work environment.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Documentable printing and managerial experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience with Flexo Print, Screen Print and Thermal Transfer applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Computer proficiency (MS office – Word, Excel and Outlook) and experience with an ERP
system is preferred.
