The Printing Press Operator reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Completes print production jobs on various types of printing press machines, including digital, flexographic, web, screen, or others. Being a Printing Press Operator performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. In addition, Printing Press Operator completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Performs regular maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers of press from one job to another. Maintains a clean and safe workspace. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being a Printing Press Operator independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. As a Press Operator, you'll be responsible for operating the pre-press and press machinery to manufacture plywood according to established quality standards. In addition to overseeing production, you'll also perform plant clean-up duties to maintain a safe and organized workspace. Key responsibilities include ensuring equipment efficiency, providing maintenance input to the Supervisor, and maintaining proper settings for pressure gauges and press temperatures. You'll also be responsible for notifying supervisors of any issues, maintaining equipment cleanliness, ensuring glue tackiness, and completing paperwork accurately. Throughout your tasks, you'll adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Requirements:- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, rules, signs, and memos.
- Basic mathematical skills for counting and performing simple calculations.
- Understanding of production numbers, goals, and quotas.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
