PIPEFITTER
Successful candidates will have a minimum of three (3) years of continuous and current experience as a Pipefitter in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
Pipefitters install and repair high and low-pressure pipe systems used in manufacturing in generation of electricity, and in heating/cooling systems. Pipefitters work from blueprints and drawings. They lay out the job and perform such tasks as measuring, marking, cutting, and threading pipe to connect pipe systems. Pipefitters work with various piping materials and tools and must know the specific use of each. For example, gas and other chemicals require certain types of pipes and different types of seals and gaskets. Different pipes require different tools for assembly. The Pipefitter trade requires formal training to know local ordinances, state codes, and regulations regarding their work. Eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and physical balance is important. Pipefitters use many different materials and construction techniques, depending on the type of project.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Experience:
- Proven experience as a pipefitter or similar role
- Proficient in tube bending techniques and pipe fabrication
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics accurately
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments such as calipers
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks in various weather conditions
