Pharmacy Director directs, establishes, and plans the overall policies and goals for a hospital or healthcare facility's pharmacy services. Maintains contact with other department heads, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective drug therapy. Being a Pharmacy Director requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Typically requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Additionally, Pharmacy Director typically reports to a top management. The Pharmacy Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Summary
Provides innovative leadership to maximize the Pharmacy Department's contribution to the overall hospital performance through effective planning, as well as, human and financial resource management which result in quality outcomes in line with financial goals of the institution. Responsible for assuring hospital compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as, accrediting organizations. Incumbant is accountable for departmental management twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week.

Requirements, Preferences and Experience
Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy required.
PharmD with Masters of Science in Hospital Pharmacy or related healthcare or business degree preferred.
3 years of hospital pharmacy practice required.
5 years of management experience in a hospital pharmacy practice in a mid to large sized healthcare system desired.
EPIC experience preferred.
Mississippi required licensure required.
