Payroll Clerk prepares and processes payroll and associated information. Collates and verifies data and inputs into the payroll system. Being a Payroll Clerk updates payroll records and processes routine changes to employee records. Performs basic reconciliation and auditing processes during each pay cycle. Additionally, Payroll Clerk responds to pay-related inquiries from staff. Researches and resolves errors or omissions. May prepare and submit reports and forms required by IRS or other regulatory bodies. Follows all processing procedures, adheres to policies, and maintains confidentiality. Stryten Energy is expanding battery poly manufacturing and recycling output to help solve industry-wide supply constraints.
Responsibilities
Process time sheets by verifying data with timecards or other documentation from the production floor.
Perform clerical duties associated with daily labor reports, attendance sheets, vacations, timecards, pay adjustments, and all other activities to create an accurate payroll and maintain documents.
Process weekly payroll.
Report all discrepancies on time recording records and attendance sheets to the proper supervisor for correction.
Participate in Orientation of newly hired employees with payroll presentation.
Primary point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries from hourly and union plant employees
Local Accounts Payable contact
Act as liaison between Plant Controller and Corporate Shared Services team (primarily Accounts Payable)
Vendor statement review and follow-up contact (phone calls, emails, correspondence)Support plant purchasing processes with timely reporting and other administrative tasks as assigned by Plant Controller
Maintain / review RNI reporting at the plant level, making necessary vendor contacts to minimize discrepancies and close outdated POs
Various Accounting / Finance clerical and administrative functions as directed by the local Plant Controller
Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Physical Requirements :
Sitting, standing, walking, bending, and twisting as required.
Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid)
Occasionally lifting from grams up to 50 pounds
Equipment Used :
General office equipment, PC w / various software.
Personal protective equipment as required.
Education, Experience, Skills Required :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Computer skills.
Excellent clerical skills to accurately record payroll data.
