Payroll Administrator
Remote - Georgia Preferred (Candidates must reside in GA or IL for tax and compliance purposes)
Big Blue Swim School (BBSS) is a rapidly growing company with a mission to unlock children's full potential in the water and show them that they can achieve anything. We currently have 29 stores nationwide that offer retail-based swim lessons for children, and we have sold over 200 franchise locations. As our company continues to expand, we are looking to add Payroll Specialist to our Big Blue team.
The Payroll Administrator will oversee the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for payroll for over 250 employees and growing
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits (including 401K), garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Communicates professionally and timely to manager’s at pool locations
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Prepares payroll reconciliation with payroll system and internal time tracking system.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
- Five to seven years of related experience required.
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with payroll software.
- Ability to learn and implement new payroll systems as needed.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a variety of levels of employees to coordinate information.
- Experience with multi-state (particularly California) payroll administration highly desirable
