Patient Registrar – Patient Access – Full Time
The Patient Access Representative serves as the patient’s main point of contact and the face of the NewYork-Presbyterian Queens organization while scheduling patients for visits, tests, and admissions, registering patients when they arrive, screening for medical necessity, and obtaining necessary pre-certifications and authorizations. These tasks must be completed with an emphasis on both accuracy, to ensure payment from third parties, and customer service, to foster a positive patient experience.
This is a Full-time opportunity.
Required Criteria:
· High School diploma or equivalent GED
· Experience in clerical skills, solid knowledge of navigating PC based operations.
· Knowledge of insurance carriers.
· Ability to work well in a team setting as well as independently.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Superior customer service and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Criteria:
· Experience working in a hospital, practice or healthcare setting processing patient information.
· Knowledge of Insurance verification
· EPIC
· Some College
