Reviews claims to make sure that payer specific billing requirements are met, follows-up on billing, determines and applies appropriate adjustments, answers inquiries, and updates accounts as necessary. Being a Patient Accounts Representative requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Patient Accounts Representative works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Patient Accounts Representative at Providence Medford Medical Center

    This is 1 FTE Full time, Day shift position.

    The Asst-Billing Surgical Services performs and coordinates charge input functions for the Perioperative department. The assistant biller works collaboratively with the Perioperative Business Coordinator to provide efficient and effective billing processes compliant with the medical center revenue integrity policy and procedures maintaining a standard of next day/same day charge entry. Works collaboratively with SPD, OR Manager, the Unit charge nurses, and the department staff. Provides/assures for accurate charging input in a timely fashion.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 1 year Experience working with Epic or similar software, and software systems handling scheduling, resource maps and charge entry.

    • 2 years In a health care setting.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1 year Surgical Services or Med/Surg experience.
