Patient Accounts Representative jobs in New York
Patient Accounts Representative organizes inpatient and outpatient claims for electronic or hard copy mail and forwards to appropriate third party payers. Reviews claims to make sure that payer specific billing requirements are met, follows-up on billing, determines and applies appropriate adjustments, answers inquiries, and updates accounts as necessary. Being a Patient Accounts Representative requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Patient Accounts Representative works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Healthcare Institution seeking a Patient Account Representative to handle Medical Billing & Collections. Individuals applying should have knowledge of Medical Billing and Collections.
We require the individual to be dependable, responsible, and be multi-tasked to help our department stay on top of billing and collections.
Job Duties:- Post payments daily
- Bill, upload and correct claims in clearinghouse
- Status unpaid claims and patient accounts
- Balance and complete daily deposit
- Process Refunds
- Medical Billing and Direct Data Entry exp, Collections and all aspects of A/R cycle.
- High School Graduation a must and some education/certifications in medical billing preferred
- Must be proficient in Word & Excel.
- Experience in a medical clinic, medical billing, A/R, collections (from insurance companies & patients), insurance follow-up and coding & verification. Behavior Health a plus
- Team player attitude, energetic, able to multi-task, with a focus on excellent customer service are key.
- Must be a self-starter with strong organizational skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
