Additionally, Parole Officer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Parole Officer gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by

    an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education

    Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education

    (USDE). Major course work in Criminal Justice, Counseling, Social

    Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field preferred.

    • Seven years full-time, wage-earning case management or case

    processing experience in the criminal justice or social services

    field to include four years in the supervision of employees.

    • Parole officer experience preferred.
    • Computer operations experience preferred.
    • Technical review or program evaluation experience preferred.
    • Teaching, training, or staff development experience preferred.
    • Must possess a valid state driver license.

    Must maintain valid license(s) for continued employment in position.

    • Must have or be able to obtain a certificate of course completion for

    the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS) policy

    and procedures training from the Texas Department of Public Safety

    within six months of employment date.
