Organizational Development Director jobs in Texas

Organizational Development Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate organizational development programs, policies, and procedures. Approves change management initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs. Being an Organizational Development Director oversees the development of programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Reviews key performance metrics to enable accurate and valid measurement of workforce performance and to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Director proposes changes to organizational structure to leverage talent and provide development opportunities to key leaders in the organization. Develops systematic collection and evaluation of performance metrics. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Organizational Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Organizational Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's goals, focusing on organizational development, talent management, and employee engagement.
    • Lead initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness, including change management, leadership development, succession planning, and performance management.
    • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent. Implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
    • Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, mediating conflicts, and promoting a culture of open communication and collaboration.
    • Develop and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal regulations and industry best practices.
    • Establish and monitor key HR metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives. Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management.
    • Champion diversity and inclusion efforts, promoting an equitable workplace where all employees feel valued and respected.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • At least 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on organizational development and strategic HR leadership.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
    • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations. Experience with HRIS systems and data analytics is a plus.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Bilingual (English / Spanish).

    • Work involves new continuous use of computer terminal
    • Work requires light physical effort such as stooping and bending, and occasional lifting of lightweight objects (up to 25 pounds)
    • Works requires long periods of sitting (up to 2 continuous hours and up to 8 hours in a day)
    • Work entails duties occurring outside of normal working hours.

    Additional Requirements

    • Valid Texas Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
    • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
    • Selected candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation to be hired for this position.
