Job Summary:
This position is a key senior management position responsible for all areas of assigned operations and requires heavy involvement in the oversight, approval and planning processes of the following areas: cost efficiency, maintaining staffing levels, monitoring and improving levels of productivity and quality, providing senior management with vital reports and maintain a P&L for the warehouse and operations.
Essential Job Functions:
· Ability to drive, review, development and implementation of operational process to increase productivity and reduce cost
· Accountable for warehouse operations, including but not limited to, introduce and expand consistent operation practices across the business to significantly improve productivity, quality, and profitability
· Provide analysis of business results to Chief Operating Officer on a periodic basis
· Participate in the strategic planning process of operations
· Plan and review upgraded systems and procedures
· Identify, analyze and make recommendations to correct any arising issues
· Participate in freight negotiations as needed
· Responsible for monitoring agreed operating metrics regarding units processed per hour, quality levels, and revenue per hour as well as revenue per square foot
· Create and operate within budget
· Responsible for all inbound/outbound transportation operations
· Establish and modify as necessary, all policies and procedures for operation departments
· Generate purchase requests for materials required for operations
· Provide time and motion pricing to the sales department
· Manages the oversight of the allocation of labor hours throughout the warehouse weekly
· Review client pricing and contractual commitments to assure compliance.
· Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identify opportunities for improvement.
· Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business procedures.
· Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
· Responsible for safety and training, and ensures work environments are adequate and safe.
· Oversees department ensuring each is reaching goals set by departmental and company leadership.
· Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors, and forecasts budgets and cost of sales in each division to achieve financial objectives.
· Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
· Improves customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes.
· Leads coordination and integration of efforts amongst operations, technology, and customer service divisions to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
