Oilwell Pumper jobs in Oklahoma
Oilwell Pumper is responsible for daily upkeep and maintenance of oil wells. Operates oil production and injection equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures. Being an Oilwell Pumper reports and interprets metrics such as volume and pressure of gas and oil within the well. Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Additionally, Oilwell Pumper requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Oilwell Pumper works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Description
• Checks assigned well sites daily.
• Monitors control panels during pumping operations in order to ensure that materials are being pumped at the correct pressure, density, rate, and concentration.
• Operates engines and pumps in order to shut off wells according to production schedules, and to switch flow of oil into storage tanks.
• Removes obsolete equipment, trash and debris from well sites.
• Ensures that wells are properly fenced with
• Repair gas and oil meters and gauges.
• Unload and assemble pipes and pumping equipment, using hand tools.
• Attach pumps and hoses to wellheads.
• Open valves to return compressed gas to bottoms of specified wells in order to repressurize them and force oil to surface.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• At least one year of experience as an oilfield pumper.
Ability to carefully check gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a well is working properly.
• Knowledge and ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Able to determine causes of operating errors and decide what to do about it.
