Mortgage Loan Processor performs administrative tasks for mortgage loan processing. Collects and prepares necessary information such as loan applications, credit documents, and appraisals to process and complete mortgage loan files. Being a Mortgage Loan Processor verifies all documentation for accuracy and completeness. Tracks and monitors due dates. Additionally, Mortgage Loan Processor ensures all documents are prepared and finalized in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures. Inputs and maintains all required transaction and processing records according to procedures. Responds to inquiries. Prepares required regulatory reporting. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Mortgage Loan Processor works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.     Description

    The mortgage loan processor is a part of the real estate lending team and is accountable for providing assistance to all Mortgage Loan Originators in initiating, investigating, and closing of all real estate loans.

    Essential Functions

    • Preparing and verifying accuracy of real estate loan documents, of all sizes utilizing the most current real estate programs available.
    • Maintaining contact with customers, loan originators, and realtors as needed to process loans in an efficient manner.
    • Reviewing documents with the customer prior to title company closing.
    • Scheduling appointments with the title companies for closing.
    • Filing required documents to protect the bank’s lien position on collateral.
    • Provide guidance and training to other loan processors in preparing and verifying accurate loan documents.
    • Shipping recorded documents to investor to complete transaction.
    • Coping documents before shipping to investor.
    • Answering customer inquiries and phone calls
    • Scheduling appointments between customers and loan officers.
    • Work closely with the underwriter to ensure documents are correct
    • Request VOE’s and VOM’s
    • Collecting needed documents to process loan, flood, appraisals, verifications, transcripts, hazard binder and any other required documents.
    • Assure complete and accurate loan documentation files, by following banks’ lending policy and procedure.
    • Develop and maintain strong account relationships with customers ad loan originators.
    • Promote a good image of the bank in the community by being involved in civic and charitable activities.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Mortgage Loan Manager or Mortgage Operations Manager.

    • Mortgage Loan Processors, following their 90-day onboarding and training period, should be capable of processing a minimum of 20 mortgage loans per month, with 90 percent accuracy on each loan file submitted.

    Requirements

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 3-4 Years working in the real estate industry.
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, Internet, and demonstrated ability to learn other computer programs.
