Doe Run is currently seeking a Mine Engineer to evaluate, recommend, and manage engineering projects for the mining operations to ensure the production goals are met safely, on time and on budget. Oversee and plan ventilation improvements. This position is located at our Brushy Creek Mine in Boss, MO.
Title (Level I, II, or III) & Pay will be based on education and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee intermediate project management including financial, safety, environmental, and site maintenance.
- Act as a technical expert with project development and assist operations leadership in project approval and execution.
- Order parts, equipment, and replacement supplies for development projects.
- Plan and write Approval for Expenditures (AFEs) for expenses; provide full economic justification and rate of returns.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure development plan goals are achieved.
- May supervise a mine operations crew; manage daily crew assignments and performance, and develop employee skills.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare and distribute reports and conduct presentations as needed.
- Assist mine general supervisor with production operations as needed.
- Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner and maintain EHS (environmental, health, and safety) compliance by holding direct reports accountable for adherence to EHS policies, procedures, and best practices; evaluating employee EHS performance via field observations and document review; reporting and correcting unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and providing feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or related field
- Minimum years of experience working in a mine or similar environment
- Blue card training certification preferred
- Valid, current driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Etc.), Budgeting (Adaptive), Drafting (AutoCAD), Database (Pi, MS SQP Server, Access, AcQuire), HR Information System (UKG), AS400 or similar mining database, 3D Modeling (Vulcaan, Surfer, Leapfrog, ArcGIS), and PeopleSoft.
- Ability to use clear and precise communication
- Ability to manage intermediate projects meeting financial, safety, and environmental goals
- Knowledge of environmental regulations
Work Environment, Physical & Lifting Requirements:
- Regularly uses a computer/tablet, phone/radio, drives a personnel carrier; Rarely uses non-powered equipment.
- Regularly required to work underground, and wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to, fall protection, hearing protection, and eyewear. Frequently required to work in wet, humid conditions (non-weather); Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions, exposed to vibration, and work near mechanical parts. Rarely required to work in confined spaces, wear a respirator, and work at heights of 4 feet or more with fall protection. May be exposed to loud noise levels.
- Regularly required to talk and hear; Occasionally required to stand, walk, drive, use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms, use a repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movement. Rarely required to sit, grasp, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance. Requires clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and three-dimensional vision. Requires precise hand-eye coordination and the ability to distinguish colors.
- Regularly required to lift up to 5 pounds; Frequently required to lift 6-15 pounds; Occasionally required to lift 16-50 pounds; Rarely required to lift 51-75 pounds.
