Performs analysis and tests to aid in the development of new and improved metals and alloys as well as their applications to various products. Being a Metallurgical Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Metallurgical Engineer work is closely managed. - Production orders booked out for a year
- Ability to produce castings from 600 different alloys
- Markets served include Aerospace, defense, energy, mining, petrochemical, food equipment and process equipment
- In addition to castings, they have a complete machine shop for fabrication, heating treating facility and testing lab
- Certifications include: AS9100, ISO 9001, Nadcap, and ASNT Levels II & III
- Dynamic leadership team who was promoted from within to lead the organization to new heights
- Outstanding culture focused on safety and the growth of the individual
- Defining metallurgical requirements for projects to be cast
- Troubleshoot problems with castings
- Provide technical support to both external and internal customers
- Lead or assist with continuous process improvements
What they are looking for:- BS Metallurgical or Materials Engineering
- 5 years prior hands-on experience working with casting metallurgy
- Must be a team player who can work with all levels of staff
- Due to the defense work the company does, you must be a U.S. Citizen
- Experience with induction furnace melting, arc melting, AOD refining is very helpful
- The more knowledge you have about the alloys, especially using copper the better
- Six-Sigma / Lean Manufacturing practices is also very helpful
