Meeting/Event Director directs the overall planning and strategy for live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the goals, success metrics, and messaging for events. Being a Meeting/Event Director implements best practices and develops planning standards, policies. and procedures. Additionally, Meeting/Event Director develops a network of vendors. Approves the final selection of venues, catering, technology, and other event support services. Reviews and approves contracts and has overall responsibility for ensuring events stay within budget. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Meeting/Event Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Meeting/Event Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Description

    The Region On-Premise Director is responsible for acting as a business partner to the respective Division, Region and Corporate management. Leads On-Premise sales execution across all divisions within the region. Works closely with and influences the Region Vice President, Division Directors and Division On-Premise Managers to ensure On Premise sales and revenue goals are met at the region and division level. Provides leadership to drive sales execution with accountability for sales and revenue results. Works closely with the Division On-Premise Managers to ensure consistent execution of all corporate and local On-Premise sales strategies, tactics and initiatives. Ultimately responsible for every aspect of the On-Premise business within the Region providing leadership,
    creativity, analytical and decision support.

    • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
    • Builds positive associate morale
    • Analyze business results and develop programs to drive sales and revenue growth
    • Directs and manages project implementation from beginning to end
    • Interview, hire, and train associates (if applicable)
    • Plan, assign, and direct work (if applicable)
    • Appraise performance (if applicable)
    • Address complaints and resolve problems
    • Collaborating with senior leadership to establish and execute a sales and revenue goal for the region
    • Strategic alignment with Region Vice President and Division Directors to influence execution of Corporate On-Premise sales initiatives across divisions
    • Indirectly managing a sales team to maximize sales revenue and meet or exceed goals
    • Spends time in-market with Division On-Premise Managers to provide direction and insight to achieve sales and revenue goals
    • Build and maintain relationships with region and division positions associated with the large specialty retail and foodservice customers
    • Serves as On-Premise leader and champions On Premise priorities; identifies, analyzes and resolves issues and promotes collaboration within all divisions
    • Business point person for identification and sharing of division best practices
    • Analyzes the On-Premise business results, then works closely with Brand Partners to develop programs that will drive incremental sales and revenue across the Region
    • Coordinates development of the annual business plan and ensures inclusion of national strategies and tactics in the division business plans
    • Owns the process of adoption, implementation or advancement of all current and future process improvement initiatives
    • Influences and supports informed business decisions and aligns with the divisions to ensure a positive return on invested capital
    • Ultimately responsible for growing sales and revenue in all On Premise channels
    • Sales execution in market with divisions leading sales and revenue growth and driving initiatives
    • Project leadership
    • Coordinates annual business plan: strategies, tactics, initiatives and equipment placements
    • Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management

    What you need to succeed:

    • Minimum age 18 years old
    • Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
    • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
    • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
    • Ability to read, write and speak English
    • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
    • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
    • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills
    • Build and maintain relationships across all levels of the business
    • Exceptional communication, collaboration, organizational and people management skills
    • Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of UXT Database software,
    • Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word & PowerPoint Word Processing software
    • Must be able to indirectly supervise 4-6 associates within the On-Premise Region. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems
    • Must be able to travel throughout the UNITED territory as needed
