Medical Records Supervisor jobs in New York

Cedar Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is searching for a Part-Time Medical Records Clerk to become a part of our facility’s compassionate care-giving team.

Qualifications:

- Must be 18 years or older

- Must have knowledge of medical terminology 

- Must be knowledgeable of medical records practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care

- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, sales representative, home office and the general public.

Job Summary: 

To maintain medical records in accordance with Federal and State guidelines as well as in accordance with our established policies and procedures to assure that a complete medical records program is maintained.

·         Maintenance and care of all medical records in the nursing home.

·         Review and analysis of records to ensure internal consistency at least quarterly using facility medical record chart audit tool.

·         File any and all required documents in the resident chart.

·         Cooperation with medical staff in defining standards for medical records and establishing means to assure maintenance of these standards.

·         Ensure incomplete records/charts are returned to the appropriate discipline upon discharge of a resident to be completed.

·         Assist in organizing, planning and directing the medical records section in accordance with established policy and procedure.

  ·         Abstract information from records as authorized /required for insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, VA etc…

·         Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.

·         Maintains confidentiality and privacy of all resident information
