• Bachelor's degree or

• High School diploma plus (4) four years of formal interpreting experience required.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

• Provides interpreting for the patient & family and medical healthcare team in the specified language.

• Provides culturally/linguistically appropriate written translation of patient education materials and other written documents. Identifies barriers or concerns that interfere with the interpreting process and suggests alternatives for resolution.

• Educates staff about TIS compliance, best practices, and cultural competence.

• Completes Interpreting Logs for data collection.

• Participates in relevant committees and organizations as assigned.

• Places call to specified language patients to schedule appointments and process clinic registration before the patient's clinic visit.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
