Additionally, Medical Director advises non medical management on clinical and patient related matters and policies. Requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Medical Director typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.     The Sr. Director, Medical Education is a strategic leadership role, responsible for independently overseeing the comprehensive development, direction, and coordination of Inari’s global medical education strategy and activities within the organization. This position requires a seasoned professional capable of providing innovative insights, driving organizational initiatives, and ensuring the alignment of medical education efforts with company goals.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and lead the strategic planning of course design and supporting documentation for continuing medical education activities.
    • Oversee staffing and scheduling of both in-house and field training programs, ensuring effective execution.
    • Attend and actively participate in medical education events to support customer engagement and stay abreast of industry trends.
    • Ensure that all training programs align with company and customer objectives.
    • Identify areas of improvement for courses and symposium participation, implementing enhancements to elevate educational offerings.
    • Develop comprehensive business plans for the medical education function, outlining strategic objectives, resource requirements, and key performance indicators.
    • Effectively manage budgets related to medical education initiatives, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational goals.
    • Provide training to global customers when needed at medical education events, maintaining effective communication to ensure the success of training initiatives.
    • Collaborate with Marketing teams to integrate strategic focus and messaging into educational programs targeting specific customer segments.
    • Direct the activities of customer and/or employee training in the operation of company products, fostering collaboration across services, sales, and marketing leadership.
    • Interface with cross-functional teams to ensure educational offerings are aligned with strategic initiatives.
    • Oversee and evaluate medical education slide deck content to align with evolving company messaging and industry standards.
    • Collaborate with Marketing, Chief Medical Officer, and Sales Leadership to plan, execute, and evaluate all phases of internal and external medical education initiatives.
    • Build, lead, and motivate a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Learning and Development, Life Sciences, or a related field.
    • Minimum 12 years' professional experience.
    • Minimum 8 years’ experience in the management of clinical/sales education programs within the medical device industry.
    • Minimum 8 years’ managerial/leadership experience.
    • Demonstrate a deep understanding of current product use and applications to enhance educational content.
    • Strong understanding of current product uses and applications.
    • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to engage and educate diverse audiences.
    • Proven success in project management leadership, with the ability to drive initiatives from conception to completion.
    • Ability to influence and build strong relationships cross functionally, at all levels in an organization.
    • Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills, exercising discretion and judgment in decision-making.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal relationship skills for effective negotiation and relationship management.
    • Demonstrated track record of direct people-leadership.
    • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and related tools and systems.

    Preferred

    • Advanced degree in Health Science or related field a plus.
    • Previous experience in a regulated industry is preferred.

    Inari Medical offers competitive health and wealth benefits for our employees. The base pay range for this position is $220,000 - $250,000. A range of factors, including location, skills, and experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
