Mechanical Engineer designs, analyzes, and maintains mechanical components and systems to meet specified requirements and standards. Utilizes technical instruments to develop specifications for new parts, modifications, or prototypes. Being a Mechanical Engineer identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of products. Utilizes CAD software and other design and modeling tools to plan, develop, and improve mechanical parts or components and communicate conceptual designs and specifications to stakeholders. Additionally, Mechanical Engineer conducts prototype testing to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems and collects and analyzes data for improvements. Analyzes and troubleshoots mechanical issues or failures to identify root causes and develop solutions. Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Mechanical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Mechanical Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Description
From conceptual design to project completion, this is truly an opportunity with impact. The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of both commercial and industrial refrigeration mechanical systems. After meeting with the client and the internal project teams, you'll be using AutoCAD to create the layout drawings as well as the piping & instrumentation diagrams. In line with one of our five Core Values - SAFETY, you will also be assisting with the Process Safety Management Programs for our customers.
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. Master's degree is a plus.
- 5 years in Industrial Ammonia refrigeration system design, installation practices, and troubleshooting.
- Can readily perform system load calculations, sizing of equipment, creation of construction drawings and specifications for large industrial refrigeration systems.
- Has a thorough understanding of codes, standards and safety relating to Ammonia refrigeration installations.
- Has exhibited demonstrated success in design of safe and reliable Ammonia systems.
- Has extensive field experience in visiting job locations to evaluate site conditions and monitor progress throughout the project.
- HVAC system design and DX refrigeration experience is a plus
- Has the ability to mentor, develop, and train Jr Engineers
- Provide technical support to Field Service department when needed.
- FE and/or PE license a plus
- AutoCAD – Must be proficient in using software. REVIT a plus
