Creative Planning Business Services has partnered with our client, CWMF, to perform a search for a talented Plant Manager.

Overview

The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our manufacturing plant. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in manufacturing processes, team management, and continuous improvement. The Plant Manager will ensure that production goals are met efficiently, safely, and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

• Oversee all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and scheduling.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators to monitor department efficiencies.

Management:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of supervisors, and production staff.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages employee engagement and growth through training programs.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Oversee the company’s maintenance/facility program.

Production Management:

• Plan, organize, and monitor production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines.
• Optimize resource allocation and manage inventory levels to reduce waste and cost.
• Implement and oversee lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor performance of plan equipment and prepare capital equipment requests when necessary.

Quality Assurance:

• Ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards and customer expectations.
• Work closely with engineering, supervisors, and leads to address any issues and implement corrective actions.

Financial Oversight:

• Develop and manage the plant budget, including labor, materials, and operational expenses.
• Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures as needed.
• Prepare regular reports on production, financial metrics, and operational performance for senior management.

Strategic Planning:

• Participate in the development of long-term strategies for plant growth and expansion.
• Collaborate with other departments to align plant operations with overall company goals, ensuring the company has the right short-term and long-term staffing and equipment needs.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing plant operations and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
