JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for supervision of the General Stores department including ordering, receiving, distribution and inventory management. Also responsible for oversight of the Print Shop and Mail Room. Responsible for training new hires and assisting in hiring, evaluations and coaching employees.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED equivalent and five years? experience in supply chain, warehouse, materials management or logistics management. Associate?s degree preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Supervises/coordinates activities of employees concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies and equipment stocked or received in General Stores. 2. Plans layout of storeroom and unit PAR/supply rooms considering turnover, size, weight and related factors of items stored. 3. Advises employees on care & preservation of items received, stored and shipped, methods use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining and shipping stock and related problems. 4. Studies and analyzes data in coordination with the inventory analyst to make appropriate changes based on slow-moving, and excess stock to maintain department inventory turnover goals. 5. Traces history of items to define reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock- control records recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies. Provides training to employees to ensure proper counting and rotation of stock to prevent errors. 6. Schedules employees to meet department needs. 7. Organize and conduct perpetual and/or annual physical inventory process. 8. Oversee asset tagging process for capital projects. 9. Communicates effectively in writing and verbally with all levels of hospital personnel regarding supply changes, backorders and/or recalls. 10. Participates in local Value Analysis teams to evaluate new products to ensure cost effective and high quality products are utilized to meet hospital needs.
