As Senior Accountant in our Gross Margin group, you will play a critical role in supporting PGE's accounting, reporting and analysis for net variable power costs and revenue. You'll be responsible for accounting transactions and ensuring the integrity of internal controls and accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), company policies and regulatory accounting. In this role you'll perform accounting activities that include preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements that support our SEC and FERC filings. In addition, you will be expected to conduct accounting research and document accounting conclusions as necessary. You'll also be a subject matter expert that provides analysis and consulting support to the business to help understand forecasting and budgeting variances that will assist in decision-making.

This position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or another business-related field and five or more years of experience in accounting, finance, or other business-related field. CPA certification and utilities specific experience are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Execute close activities including but not limited to preparation of complex journal entries, review of team member's journal entries and preparation of account reconciliations.
Prepare and review various disclosures for PGE's SEC and FERC filings.
Perform analysis over PGE's results - working closely with the power operations team, the financial planning and analysis team, the rates and regulatory affairs team and investor relations.
Present the monthly results to management.
Prepare and update budgets and forecasts.
Understand financial systems - quickly gain proficiency with accounting organization-specific applications and understand how to perform complex calculations/tasks; work with IT and/or vendors to test updates, patches, issues, implementations.
Other tasks as assigned.

Compensation Range:
$87,225.00 - $145,375.00Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
