Position Summary
The role of the Managerial Cost Accountant will be to manage and maintain the cost accounting system and to assist with accounting functions and financial reporting for the plant. The duties would include but not limited to preparing and maintaining product costings, analysis of costs and margins, and monitoring and reporting on operational performance through financial accounting.
Essential Functions
· Collection and analysis of company’s operational costs
· Setting standards for costing and pricing of products and services
· Track and measure performance of key indicators to analyze strategies.
· Assist with inventory control and management.
· Determine fixed and variable costs and impact on operation and financials.
· Assists in Preparing monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
· Assists in budgeting and forecasting to aid in decision making.
· Provide Management reports that analyze manufacturing costs and compare to standards and actual.
· Lead physical inventories and cycle counts and oversee reconciliations needed.
· Assist with the preparation of documents needed by outside auditors for annual audit.
· Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
· Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
· Ability to work independently.
· Strong analytical skills
· Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
