ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS

• Review work order or may receive verbal instructions to determine ink, stock and equipment needed for production.
• Assist press operator with press set up including hanging of plates and blankets on press cylinders using hand tools.
• Keep press supplied with paper stock of top quality.
• Pour ink into reservoirs of printing unit and maintains ink agitator.
• Remove loaded pallet of printed material from stacking mechanism using pallet jack and replace with empty pallet.
• Periodically may need to help with preventative maintenance duties.
• Pay close attention to small detail through out the process.
• Clean and maintain machinery, equipment, and work areas to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.

• Operation monitoring skills by watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance

• Capable of implementing safety rules and operating maintenance instructions
• Ability to be on feet the majority of the work day

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma
• Previous printing press experience preferred
• Pass Bennett Mechanical Aptitude Test
